Maintenance Advice

A well-loved bag stands the test of time.
Discover our simple steps to preserve the beauty of your PÖ&ME piece.

PÖ&ME is a brand that pays meticulous attention to every detail of its collections. Our meticulously crafted bags require special care to preserve their beauty and quality. From leather to accessories, each product may require repair or refreshment over time.

Important: To ensure the proper preservation of your items, we recommend that you first test any cleaning product on an inconspicuous area of your bag (for example, the bottom of the bag) before applying it to the entire surface.

In leather goods, as in all fields where excellence lies in delicacy, it is essential to treat your products with care. For optimal care, we recommend entrusting your PÖ&ME bags to professionals specializing in leather.

SMOOTH LEATHER

Synonymous with understated elegance, smooth leather is a must-have in leather goods. Appreciated for its aesthetic appeal and pleasant feel, it's also practical thanks to its ability to repel water and stains.

Care instructions:
Gently dust your bag with a soft white cloth using circular motions to preserve its shine.
For stains, apply a slightly damp white cloth with mild soap to keep its surface smooth and non-marking.
Use a waterproofing spray specifically designed for smooth leathers for optimal protection against moisture and oils. Be sure to test a small area first before applying to the entire bag.

Storage tips:
Store your bag away from direct light and humidity to preserve its elegant appearance and suppleness.
Lightly fill the inside with uncolored material to maintain its shape.

Precautions:
Avoid overly abrasive products, such as shoe polish, so as not to alter the natural shine of the leather.
Avoid prolonged exposure to rain, as although smooth leather is durable, excessive moisture can alter its texture.

GRAINED LEATHER

Prized for its strength and weather resistance, grained leather is ideal for everyday use. Its rich, sophisticated texture gives it timeless charm and great practicality.

Care instructions:

Clean your bag using circular motions with a soft cloth to preserve the integrity of its grained texture.
For stains, lightly apply a damp white cloth with mild soap to avoid altering the texture and maintain the original appearance of the grain.
Use a specific waterproofing spray for grained leather to provide protection against stains and moisture, testing on a small area first.

Storage tips:
Store your bag in a dry, well-ventilated environment, away from any direct heat source, to avoid any risk of deformation or marking.
Fill the bag with uncolored material to maintain its shape.

Precautions:
Avoid prolonged contact with greasy or oily substances, as they can penetrate the grains and affect the appearance of the leather.
Protect the bag from prolonged rain, which could damage the upper layers of the grained leather.

EMBOSSED LEATHER

Inspired by crocodile, ostrich, or reptile skins, embossed leather is created using heat stamping or pressure. Its sleek, shiny appearance and refined feel are sure to captivate.

Care instructions:
Clean your bag with a soft, dry cloth using circular motions to avoid damaging the embossed effect.
For stains, apply a damp white cloth with mild soap, being careful not to over-wet the surface to preserve the print.
Use a waterproofing spray suitable for embossed leather to protect textured areas and prevent moisture marks. Test on a small area first before treating the entire bag.

Storage tips:
Store your bag in a dry place away from direct light to prevent the embossing from deforming over time.
Lightly stuff the inside with tissue paper or air bags to maintain the shape of your bag.

Precautions:
Avoid contact with chemicals, such as inks and solvents, which may alter the shiny, textured appearance of the embossed leather.
Protect your bag from prolonged exposure to rain, as moisture can alter the finely textured textures of embossed leather.

SUEDE LEATHER

Also known as nubuck, suede, or suede, suede is a noble material, attractive for its peach-skin texture and high-end appearance. It is a leather whose surface has been treated to give it a soft and deep texture, which gives it a unique character.

Care instructions:
Use a horsehair brush or soft brush, or a chamois cloth, to gently clean without altering the texture.
For stains, use a soft white cloth and pat lightly to remove the stain without rubbing aggressively.
Use a waterproofing spray suitable for suede leather to protect against water and oils. Test on a small area first before treating the entire bag.

Storage tips:

Store your bag in a pouch, away from humidity and direct light.
Lightly stuff the inside with tissue paper or air bags to maintain its shape.
Protect it from sunlight to prevent fading and premature aging.

Precautions:
Avoid contact with water and oily substances. In case of accidental contact with liquids, gently dab with a clean cloth to absorb, then let dry naturally at room temperature.
As with nubuck and suede, there is a risk of color bleeding, so it is recommended to wear a light color with light clothing, and vice versa.
Avoid prolonged exposure to rain and contact with chemicals and inks.
